Job Description
We are currently working with an education contract caterer to recruit an established Operations Manager with experience of overseeing c20-25 sites within the primary and secondary schools.
The role will pick up a patch across the Oxfordshire to Hertfordshire area, operating within State, Academy and Trust settings.
With the assistance of the support team of 2 Chef Managers, 2 Relief Managers and an Area Support Manager, you will be working closely with the clients at each site to ensure their food, service and general site accounts are delivered and exceeding client expectation.
We are looking for an Operations Manager who will:
- Ensure all financial targets are met and exceeded with regards to revenue and profit
- Lead, develop and motivate their teams
- Thrive on client relations and contract retention
- Comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Licensing and Food Handling
- Play an active role in sales tender proposals and presentations including supporting the sales process and contract negotiations
- Develop food standards and initiatives to deliver on going food innovation
- Be experienced in mobilising new sites in line with planned timetable of openings
- Compile budgets in line with each site requirement

- Experience at multi-site Operations level within education catering
- A client-focused approach
- Immaculate personal presentation for this client facing role
- Ability to think commercially with good sound financial acumen
- A genuine passion for food and a desire to innovate and develop in this area
- Strong leadership qualities and motivational skills
- Full clean driving licence
- Clear DBS background – checks will be required due to safeguarding
