Job Description
We are currently recruiting a qualified Nutritionist on behalf of an established and progressive award-winning contract catering company.
The Nutritionist will work across the UK, supporting menu development within the education sector. Working across both the state and independent sector, it is essential that you have a natural passion for nutritional wellbeing and experience at a similar level within the Foodservice sector.
Working in a fast-paced, creative environment, you will need to have sound science-based knowledge and have the ability to interpret, present and communicate this within the education setting.
Working closely with and reporting in to the Food Director, you will be responsible for the Nutritional needs within the schools from the South Coast to Yorkshire. The role will require 3-4 days within the schools across the UK during term-time. During the school holidays, the pattern will alter slightly as you undertake more project-based work and planning.
As an integral member of the senior food team, the Nutritionist will be expected to present and deliver evidence-based information to drive business decisions on nutrition in line with the client’s catering strategy.
Your role will include the following:
* Supporting recipe and menu development by providing proactive guidance on cooking methods and alternative ingredients
* Menu and recipe analysis
* Ensuring nutrition information provided is accurate and clearly communicated
* Keeping abreast of European Best Practice guidelines and legislation for nutrition and health; communicating relevant information to the food team and the client base
* Working alongside marketing teams to deliver nutritional education in line with workplace health and nutrition
* Being the key point of contact for managers, chefs and company client employees regarding nutrition-related queries
* Consistently bringing new ideas and innovation to the food team which are relevant to health and wellbeing
* Engagement and interaction with education groups via e-mail, social media and face-to-face
* Running health and wellbeing educational events and pop-up stands
* Providing nutrition-related content for marketing collateral and working alongside the marketing professionals to deliver this
It is vital that you have experience within a similar role and have the ability to develop the offer within an ever-changing business.
You will need to demonstrate you have the following:
* Registered (RNutr) or Associate Registered (ANutr) Nutritionist, or Registered Dietitian
* A natural love for food innovation, cooking and wellbeing
* A confident and articulate way of communicating with a flair for building strong relationships with customers and colleagues
* Experience in catering for children with food allergy and other special dietary needs
* Experience in fortification and modified texture diets
* Experience of nutrition software systems
* The ability to work both independently and with managers, chefs and kitchen teams
* Knowledge and experience in translating evidence-based nutrition science into useful information
It is also essential you hold a full clean driving licence.
