Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the operations of a 120-bedroom hotel in Berkshire. In partnership with the ownership and management company, you will play a key role in preparing for a comprehensive rebrand and full refurbishment scheduled for early 2026. This is a unique opportunity to lead a significant transformation and shape the future direction of the property from the ground up.

General Manager Salary: Starting Salary of up to £70,000 plus £10k bonus, 33 annual days off work, Pension, Private Medical.

Working 40 hours 5 days out of 7.

About the Role of General Manager:

As General Manager, you will be the driving force behind the hotel’s transformation and future commercial success. You will be responsible for the full operational leadership of the property, ensuring high levels of performance, profitability, and guest satisfaction. A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities of the General Manager:

  • Lead day-to-day operations with a strong focus on cost control and profitability.
  • Spearhead the rebrand and refurbishment project, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences, ensuring brand standards are upheld and continuously improved.
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing team across all departments.
  • Make timely, commercially astute decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Analyse and react to market trends, driving revenue through accommodation, F&B, and ancillary services.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager in a branded hotel, ideally within the IHG brand – preferred but not essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset.
  • A proactive leader who thrives under pressure and adapts quickly to change.
  • Experience managing refurbishment or rebranding projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
