General Manager – Private Members Club, London
A prestigious Private Members Club – an opulent but comfortable “home away from home” for a diverse membership – is looking to employ an ambitious member-facing General Manager to lead from the front and be hands on in fostering and enhancing a vibrant business, while showing sensitivity to the culture of the club. The successful candidate will step fluidly into the role and maintain consistency to the operation, already well positioned within the market, while encouraging new ideas to drive the business forward.
The General Manager must have extensive high-end hospitality experience (social aspect clubs or 4/5* hotel experience beneficial), as they will be responsible for the management of Reception, Porterage, Events, Restaurants, Bars and Kitchen. 6 venues provide a flexible space, for a variety of events, both member and clubs and the General Manager will support this operation closely.
This role will be a trusted support to the CEO and an inspiring, service-driven operational leader visible to both staff and members, and so a people-focussed professional and approachable demeanour is key in performing the following key duties:
Communication and Brand – as an ambassador for the club, you will communicate effectively and assist with the development of the image of the club in conjunction with the Board and CEO.
Financial Reporting – working closely with the Financial Controller, a key responsibility is to ensure accuracy in daily, weekly and monthly reporting and P&L analysis in a timely manner.
Legal Responsibility – shared responsibility of employee and member health and safety and ensuring adherence to Licensing, Employment and Financial Law.
Managing Risk – ensuring compliance with all regulatory, legal and compliance bodies and protecting the assets and business reputation within the club and beyond.
Company Responsibility – Deputising in the absence of the CEO, as well as participation in Club Management meetings, decisions and issues.
This is a really exciting opportunity, open to candidates who possess both the qualities required and experience of duties listed above. An opportunity open to seasoned General Managers, and also Deputy’s or Operations Directors ready to step into the role of General Manager.
Work across a variety or shifts, and days of the week is required and you will be remunerated with a generous £75k, 7% pension contribution (with annual raises capped at 10%), private medical, death in service and KPI based bonus
