Food and Beverage Manager Salary & Benefits:

An award-winning beach resort on the stunning island of Zanzibar, currently undergoing construction with opening to take place in May 2025, is looking to employ an experienced and dynamic Food and Beverage Manager. This role will be pivotal in the development and and implementing of creative food and beverage concepts in the opening phases for planned new outlets.

The Food and Beverage Manager will also act as the Deputy to the General Manager, providing strong leadership and seamless operations in the GM’s absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage department, ensuring exceptional quality and efficiency across all dining venues, bars, events, and room service.
  • Manage and lead a diverse and multi-cultural team, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff, focusing on service quality, product knowledge, and health and safety protocols.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, assuming full responsibility in their absence and ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports; monitor departmental performance and control costs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and managing inventory effectively.

Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Manager in a luxury resort or similar hospitality setting, ideally in a beach or coastal environment, and opening experience a big plus. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, with experience managing and training large teams. A customer-focused approach is essential, with the drive to exceed guest expectations as well as a strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
