Executive Head Chef

Overseeing a Team of 7 chefs (1 Sous, 1 Junior Sous, 3 Chef de Partie, 2 Commis)

Overview Working for a national and prestigious contract caterer as the onsite caterer, we provide the daily meals catering service to 700 international post graduate students, 365 days per year who live in this prestigious residential development in central London.

We serve everything from bar food to fine dining formal dinners and cater to a wide variety of internal and external client events, hotel guests and an 80 strong client team.

Facilities include a 250 sit down capacity restaurant with adjacent servery, a 65 bed 4* hotel, 10 event meeting rooms, an amazing enclosed garden square, external enclosed garden and an all-day café and bar.

Daily Meal services run from 8am to 9pm Mon to Fri and 8am – 8pm at weekends

This role does offer a better work/life balance than hotels, conferencing and events catering but pays a competitive salary for the London area.

About you…

The successful candidate is likely to have hotel, conferencing, event, fine dining and retail catering experience.

Additionally they will:

Demonstrate excellent cooking skills with a strong understanding of produce, ingredients and flavours

The ability to write creative and varied menus within a cost structure

Excellent leadership skills with experience of coaching and developing your team

Flexible, adaptable and calm under pressure with good time management

Effective communication at all levels with your team, management and client department heads.

Exceptional organisation and planning skills to deliver high quality food to all customers

Strong understanding of budget management and how to achieve it consistently

High attention to detail, ensuring quality and consistency of delivery

Takes pride in running a clean and HACCP compliant kitchen and kitchen team
