Exciting opportunity for an established Chef Manager to work with a great team in a prestigious care home in Eastbourne.
Your key responsibilities as the Chef Manager will consist of: – Lead Heads of Departments to ensure proactive management of teams on site.
-Day to day cooking and delivery of service at this 60 bed residential care home – Accountable for bookwork, stock control, inducting, training and supporting staff to deliver an efficient, high quality service to the home.
As chef manager you will be motivating and managing a team that consists of a chef, catering assistants and kitchen porter. – Controlling and managing a budget – Accountable for ensuring ongoing team communications, including building internal and external relationships, management reporting and client liaison to enable operational excellence. – Accountable for maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks within budget – Engage with clients, customers and residents – Accountable for COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal regulations, environmental policies and duty of care to customers and colleagues.
The experience and knowledge we are looking for in our Chef Manager include: – Proven experience of working within a similar environment, ideally with residential care. With genuine interest in customer service excellence
-Empathy due to nature of the business
– fresh food and craft based background- within a care environment would be ideal but not essential if you have empathy and a positive attitude.
– Qualification as a chef to a minimum of level 2 – A strong team player – Highly confident and positive – Self-motivated and able to work well unsupervised – Proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude – Contract Catering experience desirable
Chef Manager- salary up to £30,000 Working 5/7, alternate weekend work .This role also comes with a workplace pension and 28 days holiday pro-rata (including Bank Holidays). You can also purchase up to 5 additional days annual leave. Successful candidate will have proven two covid- 19 vaccines or proof of exemption.
