Job Description

We are currently short listing outstanding candidates on behalf of a vibrant, forward-thinking contract catering company. This company is looking to strengthen their education catering sales team in the Home Counties/London area.

We are therefore looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to focus on growth of contracts within the education sector. It is essential that you have experience as a Business Development Manager or Sales Manager within contract catering and better still, if you have sold within education catering.

Your key role will be to identify and nurture new business for the company.

You will take responsibility for all stages of the sales process, working with the sales team and operational colleagues in formulating creative and bespoke bid documents and pricing strategies to win business. You will work closely with the new acquisition until ensuring a seamless handover to the operational team.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of catering within the contract catering sector (ideally the education catering sector)
  • Be a self-starter, as there will be a substantial amount of time remote working
  • Hungry, ambitious and driven for success, competitive and in it to win!
  • Be an engaging communicator, as opposed to ‘salesy’
  • Know “what good looks like” when it comes to contract catering provision
  • Be creative and innovative when it comes to creating bespoke solutions
  • Be naturally passionate about food and quality service
  • Be immaculately presented and confident in presenting with flair and personality
  • Have a keen eye for detail when compiling lengthy tender documents
  • Want to contribute to a wider winning team
  • Be organised and efficient in managing a busy diary and balancing a demanding workload.
