Our client is a large and well established foodservice company. They are vibrant and forward-thinking with a strong presence within the Business & Industry marketplace in London and the South East.
Operating contracts within B&I, Commercial and Event space, they are determined to achieve the highest standards of service and provide innovative fresh food.
Due to ongoing success and growth outside of London, they are now looking for a Business Development Director to drive their offer in the North West. Upon commencement of the role, there will be no team leadership responsibilities, but as contracts are acquired, you will recruit and develop a team of sellers within your Midlands to North regions.
The Business Development Director will be responsible for nurturing and increasing the sales within Business & Industry sectors for the North West and surrounding regions. You will be client facing with gravitas, autonomy and the commerciality to take control of new business and the retention of current clients to meet and exceed targets at every opportunity. The role reports in to a Growth Director based in the South.
As Business Development Director, you will need to have:
- Business Development Director or Senior Business Development experience within Contract Catering
- In depth knowledge of the UK Business & Industry Sector and corporate/retail restaurant space
- An extensive understanding and experience of the bid and tender process, including leading pitches to key business leaders within high value contracts c£1m+
- Commercially strong and financially aware
- Ability to think strategically in developing relationships and influencing people
- A collaborative style of communication to work closely with your colleagues in the South/London areas
- Leadership qualities and ability to recruit, mentor and develop a passionate and winning team
- Previous B&I contract gains, ideally including leading the bid on large and complex tender processes
- The drive and ability to generate circa c£3m+ of new business per year
